Are you handy? Do you like helping “behind the scenes?” Do you like to prepare food for others? It takes many people to bring the Living Christmas Tree to life, and we need you! Preparation Team – This team of all ages helps on Sunday, December 8, by pulling out and organizing the tree pieces downstairs during Discipleship Hour, then clearing out the sanctuary, and moving the tree framework upstairs after the 2nd service ends. Then returns as able on Monday, December 16, to help take down the tree, move all the parts back to storage, and re-set the Sanctuary.
Construction Team – This very important team of adults and teens works to erect the tree structure on Sunday, December 8, after the 2nd service until finished around 7 p.m. Then returns as able on Monday, December 16, to take down the tree, move all the parts back to storage, and re-set the Church.
Decoration Team – This team of adults works during the days on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, December 9-11, to prepare the tree and Sanctuary for singers, musicians and tech crews use each night. They install safety features, check lights, cut & install paper in windows, set up chairs & music stands, and other duties. If able, they come back on Monday, December 16 to pack and store away LCT items and put away chairs.
Backstage Team This team of teens and adults works Monday thru Sunday, December 9-15 during each evening rehearsal and all performances in the tree. They assist singers in and out of the tree, work behind and underneath the tree, swap and set boxes singers stand on, assist with house lights, reset the tree area between shows, and other duties as needed.
Tech Team – Lights, Sound, Slides – Sunday thru Sunday, December 8-15, assist lighting manager with set up and testing of computerized lighting program. Possibly help run light show or slides during rehearsals and for each show. Assist with sound needs in the sanctuary and running the sound board during shows.
First Aid / Spotters Team – This team of adults and teens works behind the tree Monday thru Sunday, December 9-15 during each evening rehearsal and all performances to watch and assist singers and backstage workers.
Ushers Team – This team has openings for each of the 6 performances on Thursday thru Sunday, December 12-15. We need 7 ushers to greet guests, collect tickets, hand out programs, escort guests to seats, and take up the offering. Ushers need to arrive 75 minutes ahead of performances and plan to stay to re-set the Sanctuary after their show.
Meals Team – This team of very good cooks will prepare and serve lunches (at noon) and suppers (at 5:30 p.m.) for work teams starting Sunday, December 8 and going ‘til Friday, December 13. A schedule of ‘when and what’ will be worked out after volunteers come out of their kitchens and sign up!
Choir Sustenance Team – On Saturday, December 14, prepare and serve a light meal for 100 people between the shows (for singers, orchestra, and support persons). Food will be purchased by church or reimbursed.
Prayer Team – This team’s different members will schedule to be available for prayer with the audience before and after each performance, Thursday thru Sunday, December 12-15. Listen and encourage folks…be the light of Christ to the many people that join us.
